Soap Care & Storage FAQ
Soap Bar Storage & Shelf-Life FAQ
Q: How should I store my soap bar between uses?
Keep your soap bar in a well-draining soap dish that allows air circulation underneath. This prevents the bar from sitting in water, which can make it mushy and reduce its lifespan. A soap dish with drainage holes or slats works best.
Q: Where is the best place to keep my soap?
Store your soap in a cool, dry area away from direct water spray. Avoid leaving it in the direct stream of your shower. A shelf or ledge that stays relatively dry is ideal. Keep unused bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Q: How long will my EXIT 0 SKIN CARE soap bar last?
With proper storage, our handcrafted soap bars typically last 12-18 months from purchase. An in-use bar will last 3-6 weeks depending on frequency of use and how well it's kept dry between uses.
Q: Can I extend the life of my soap bar?
Yes! Here are some tips:
- Use a soap saver bag or washcloth to use every last bit
- Cut large bars in half and store one piece while using the other
- Let the bar dry completely between uses
- Keep it away from running water and steam when not in use
Q: What if my soap gets soft or mushy?
If your soap becomes soft from too much moisture, simply let it air dry completely for 24-48 hours in a dry location. It will harden back up and be ready to use again.
Q: Should I keep the wrapper on unused soap bars?
For short-term storage (a few weeks), you can keep the wrapper on. For longer storage, we recommend removing the wrapper and allowing the soap to cure in open air in a cool, dry place. This actually makes the bar harder and longer-lasting.
Q: Do different soap varieties require different storage?
All our soap bars—whether vegan, goat's milk, hemp, or specialty scrub bars—benefit from the same storage practices: keep them dry, cool, and well-ventilated between uses.
